Philippine Beetle Biodiversity Research & Cultural Immersion
This program offers U.S. students in Biology, Entomology, Ecology, Taxonomy, Systematics, Forest Science, and Science Education an immersive research experience in tropical insect biodiversity. Hosted by the University of Mindanao’s internationally recognized Coleoptera Research Center, participants develop practical skills in beetle taxonomy, biodiversity assessment, specimen curation, and field collection while exploring the ecological importance of the Philippines’ diverse beetle fauna.
10 Nights (laboratory sessions, field research, and cultural immersion activities)
Background in Biology, Entomology, Ecology, Taxonomy, Systematics, Forest Science, Science Education, or related disciplines; proficiency in English; willingness to participate in laboratory and field research.
